Students are expected to be kind and respectful to every teacher, student, and parent while at SDA. This includes conducting themselves orderly in the hallways and break room.
Always arrive appropriately dressed and ready for your first class.
Weekly attendance is expected, but we do understand that things can happen. Please call or email the studio for any class absences and/or lateness.
If your child is sick (fever, stomachache, headache), please do not send them to class. While we appreciate them making the effort, we prefer they stay home and rest.
ONLY water is allowed in the studio classrooms.
Cellphones ARE NOT allowed in the studio classrooms.
Parents, family members, or friends are not allowed in the studio classrooms unless approved by the teacher. Keep an eye out for announcements about Bring a Friend to Dance Week and Parent Observation Week.
We want SDA to be considered your second home. So please take care of your home by cleaning up after yourself, throwing trash away, and informing staff of any major spills that happen.
SDA will keep a lost and found in the student break room. Unclaimed items will be kept for 1 month, then donated. Please label all student belongings so they can be returned to you. SDA IS NOT responsible for student property.
SDA will notify parents by email and social media post ASAP if the studio will be closed due to inclement weather or any other unforeseen event. SDA does not follow school closings.
SDA will be closed on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Presidents Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve.
There is ZERO tolerance for bullying at SDA. This includes on social media and in person. Bullying can lead to immediate dismissal from SDA. Please keep any bad attitudes and negative energy away from the studio.
Student Discipline – SDA believes in handling student issues as they occur, so discussions with students about their behavior will be held immediately if necessary. If the offense occurs again, a discussion with the student and their parent is mandatory. Three strikes will lead to either suspension or dismissal from the studio.
