Dress Code

Ballet

Girls: Solid color leotard, pink convertible ballet tights, ballet shoes and hair secured from face. (A low pony or bun are both acceptable. Low pony should be clean and not a distraction.) Please no shorts or sweat pants. If weather is cold, dancers may wear warm clothing for plies then remove extra clothing. Dance skirts are allowed.

Boys: White t-shirt tucked into black leggings or shorts, ballet shoes. If weather is cold, dancers may wear warm clothes for plies then remove extra clothing.

Contemporary/Lyrical/Jumps Leaps Turns/Jazz/Tap

Dancers are free to wear leotards and convertible tights, tanks, t-shirts, shorts, or leggings. Contemporary, Lyrical, and Jumps Leaps Turns, dancer may choose dance paws or bare feet. NO SOCKS! Jazz dancers may wear jazz shoes, or dance paws (preferred). Tap shoes should be worn for tap.

Hip Hop

Dancers are free to dress how they feel comfortable! Tennis shoes should be for hip hop class ONLY. No street shoes should be worn on the dance floor.

Acro

No loose clothing! Tanks, shorts, leggings, and leotards are all welcome!

Stretch and Strength

Dancers are free to wear leotards and convertible tights, tanks and leggings/shorts. If weather is cold, dancers may wear warm clothing for part of class.

SDA recommends the shoes below for ALL recreational classes from Toddler Series to Advanced. Please note that SDA will also carry paws and ballet shoes at the studio for purchase.
